The research structure came into being in 2009 as a research team. In 2011, it evolved into the status of a research unit (ESIER), before becoming a laboratory in 2018 under the name Laboratory of Automatic Research, Electrical Systems, and Environment (LASEE), identified under the code LR 18ES22.
Mr. Mimouni Mohamed Faouzi led the laboratory from October 2018 to October 2024. Since 2025, Mr. Msahli Faouzi has overseen the management.
